Chinese President to visit Europe to promote trade, investment cooperation

(VOVWORLD) - Chinese President Xi Jinping will visit France, Serbia and Hungary from Sunday to Friday, his first European trip in five years, to boost ties with the European Union (EU). Ukraine, trade and investment are expected to dominate the trip.

France is President Xi’s first stop. The visit will be President Xi’s second state visit to France in five years and will take place during the 60th anniversary year of diplomatic ties between the two countries. As planned, the Chinese President and President Emmanuel Macron, his host, will hold talks with European Commission (EC) President Ursula von der Leyen in Paris next Monday.

After leaving France, President Xi will visit Hungary and Serbia. In Budapest, he will meet Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
