Vietnam President’s visit demonstrates relationship contributing to peace, prosperity: Japanese Ambassador

(VOVWORLD) - Vietnamese President Vo Van Thuong’s official visit to Japan from Monday to Thursday next week sends a message that Japan-Vietnam cooperation is not just a relationship between two countries, but will also contribute to regional and global peace and prosperity, said Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam, Yamada Takio.

The visit is one of the most prominent and historically significant event of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic ties (1973-2023), he noted.

According to the Ambassador, Japan sees the potential for the two countries to become innovation partners in green transition and digital transformation, taking into account Vietnam’s economic growth and supply chain transition. Japan also wants to create momentum to restore official development assistance (ODA) capital, especially in infrastructure cooperation.

He affirms that Japan considers Vietnam an important partner in implementing the vision of a “free and open Indo-Pacific” and will deepen cooperation with Vietnam to maintain and strengthen a free and open international order, based on the rule of law.
