Tet gifts delivered to island soldiers on DK1 Platform

(VOVWORLD) - The High Command of the Navy Region 2 on Tuesday sent two ships carrying a working delegation and 22 tons of essential goods and New Year or Tet gifts to officials and soldiers on the DK1 Platform, Radar Station 590 and other armed forces stationed on Con Dao Island, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province.

The gifts were donated by the Ministry of National Defense, the Navy, and the Navy Region 2 High Command, as well as agencies, businesses and individuals nationwide.

They include pork, chicken, sticky rice, dong leaves, mung beans, yellow apricot flowers, peach blossoms, kumquat trees, dried foods, and confectioneries.

Colonel Pham Quyet Tien, Deputy Commander of the Navy Region 2, said, “When spring and New Year comes, people nationwide share their affection with officials and soldiers stationed in border and island areas."
"The working delegation is honored to deliver such signs of affection to the soldiers serving at the forefront of the nation to encourage them to overcome difficulties to fulfill their tasks.”
