(VOVWORLD) -People's Committee of Sa Pa town, Lao Cai province, on Saturday hosted a conference to promote local tourism and connections with localities in neighboring China and Laos.

Leaders of Sa Pa town, Honghe prefecture of China’s Yunnan province, and Laos’ Vientiane capital introduced the local tourism potential and advantages and spread the message of friendship and cooperation.
According to Vice Chairman of Sa Pa People's Committee Do Van Tan, Sapa pays special attention to expanding its tourism market internationally.
“In the near future, Sa Pa will organize an International Yoga Festival, aiming to reach out to foreign markets, especially in India, South Korea, Japan and European countries,” he added.
Delegates representing the government and local tourism associations discussed solutions to increase the number of tourists to ensure harmony of interests between parties.
On the opening of the Summer Festival in Sa Pa town, a Gala meeting and international cultural exchange offered performances by the Art Troupe of Ping Bian in China’s Yunnan province.
