(VOVWORLD) -On Saturday, the first day of the five-day public holiday of National Reunification and May Day, localities nationwide opened exciting cultural events to welcome tourists.

Bac Kan province’s Culture and Tourism Week highlighted the national intangible cultural heritage Bowl Dance of the Tay people performed by 1,000 artists and students. In four districts and cities including Bac Kan City, Cho Don, Ba Be and Na Ri districts, a series of events are introducing tourism, cuisine, OCOP products, and traditional sports.

Pham Duy Hung, Vice Chairman of Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee, said: “We hope that through Culture, Sports and Tourism Week 2024, we will promote Bac Kan's tourism products to a large number of domestic and international tourists. We build Bac Kan's intangible cultural heritages such as the Bowl Dance of the Tay people and Sli singing of the Nung people in Xuan Duong into tourism products to serve tourists.”

Tuyen Quang opened the provincial tourism year at Nguyen Tat Thanh Square. Thousands of people and tourists enjoyed the art program "Tuyen Quang - shining the heritage" and hot air balloon festival.

In Thanh Hoa, the 2024 Sam Son Beach Tourism Festival officially opened with the inauguration of a 10,000-people Sea Square and put the Sun World Sam Son mega entertainment complex into operation.

Le Van Tu, Chairman of Sam Son City People's Committee, said: “The city has been focusing on leveraging the advantages that nature bestows, attracting investors to build world-class entertainment and tourist areas, and adopting polite behaviors to satisfy tourists. We are determined to build Sam Son into a key national tourism urban area and contribute to making Thanh Hoa a new growth pole.”

On Saturday evening, at April 2 Square, Nha Trang city hosted the 1st International Jazz Program. The opening night themed "The Spotlight of Jazz" gathered more than 100 artists and bands from Vietnam, the US, Singapore, and South Korea.
