In 2024, the Prime Minister has issued a comprehensive program which requests plans to fulfill goals of savings in specific field.

Minister of Finance Ho Duc Phoc said: “Efforts should be made to strengthen thrift practice and waste prevention in management and use of state budget; public investment capital; public assets; natural resources, minerals, and land. It’s necessary to improve the effectiveness of inspection and examination of the implementation of the program on practicing savings and combating waste."

Phoc stressed the need to strictly abide by legal regulations on handling violations by heads of agencies, units and individuals that cause waste.
