Festival introduces captivating cultural, historical sites of Hanoi

(VOVWORLD) - The 2024 Hanoi Tourism Festival, themed "Thang Long-Hanoi – Charming Capital" opened at Thong Nhat Park on Thursday. Taking place until Sunday, the festival promises visitors a range of interesting activities.

This year’s programs focus on promoting the monuments, craft villages, and cuisine of Hanoi and nearby localities. Visitors will be introduced to the captivating cultural and historical sites of Hanoi, including the Thang Long Imperial Citadel, the Temple of Literature, the Old Quarter, Ba Vi, Soc Son, and Duong Lam-Son Tay on the outskirts of Hanoi.

The local administration has encouraged businesses to roll out enticing tourism packages to attract travelers with top-notch services at reasonable prices. Businesses will unveil new tourism products, unique tours that will provide fresh perspectives on the treasures of Hanoi and its surrounding locales.

The festival booths will evoke the ambiance of ancient streets, display 2D and 3D miniatures, showcase local heritage, and serve as a check-in point for tourists. 150 booths sponsored by Vietnam’s provinces and cities will introduce their tourism products and local specialties, while booths sponsored by international tourism agencies will feature exotic destinations around the globe, exciting itineraries and unique travel experiences.

The corner dedicated to crafts will spotlight fine products from traditional craft villages and the Hanoi cuisine zone will serve up delectable specialty dishes that represent the capital's culinary heritage.

There will be performances of contemporary and traditional arts, street dances, flashmob dancing, dragon dancing, water puppetry performances themed "Thang Long Imperial Citadel", performances of folk instruments themed "The heroic capital", an Ao Dai (traditional long dress) show called "Golden History of Trang An”, and a painting exhibition called "Emotions inside me".

The 2024 Hanoi Tourism Festival, Hanoi’s largest annual tourism promotion event, will bring the capital’s culture and history to exciting life. The festival is expected to attract 50,000 visitors.
